Welcome to Silver Mountain's Winter Sport School

Let our instructors help unleash your riding passion. We have programs and packages for snow riders of every age and ability level.

Silver Mountain Resort’s PSIA/AASI Certified Sports School is perfect for all skill levels (never-evers to experts), ages 4 and older. Dedicated to providing our guests the best possible learning experience, Sports School Director Jim Carver and his team of professionals participate in continuing education program to bring you the latest and greatest coaching methods.

A few basic things will make you and/or your child’s experience on the mountain enjoyable. Please arrive at the Sports School ready to ski or snowboard. Weather conditions can change rapidly so dress in layers – it far better to take something off if it gets too warm versus not being warm enough.  Sun screen and lip balm are highly recommended to protect exposed skin from the elements and goggles or sun glasses are essential to protect your eyes.

Adult/Child Private or Semi-Private Lessons (ages 5 & up, 7 & up for boarding)

Simply the best and quickest way to improve your skiing and snowboarding skills. Private and semi-private lessons are available anytime by our staff of experienced professionals.

$60 - for 1 hour ($20 for each additional person)
$150  - for 3 hours ($30 for each additional person)

Group Lessons and Packages (ages 14+)

"Never Ever" Package $70
This super affordable package includes rental equipment, 1 ½ hour group lesson and beginner area lift ticket (Prospector lift only).
Lesson begins daily at 10:30a and at 1p on weekends. Please arrive early to check out equipment.

"Next-Step" Package $80
Designed for the individual who has graduated past the first day of skiing or snowboarding. You will have access to all of our beginner terrain.

Package includes rental equipment, 1 ½ hour group lesson, rentals and lift ticket.  Lesson begins daily at 10:30am and 1p on weekends.  Please arrive early to check out equipment.

EZ Ski & Ride 1-2-3 (Ages 14 & Older) $139
Making it EZ for first-timers! Package includes 3 lift tickets (Prospector lift only), 3 rental packages, and 3 group lessons all at one incredibly low price.  Lessons begin at 10:30a and 1p weekends only. (Not available during Holiday periods.)

Children’s Programs

Rates:
$9 per hour
$30 for ½ day (includes snacks)
$55 for full day (includes lunch and snacks)

Lil’ Prospectors (ages 4 to 7) - Weekends and Holidays only
An outdoor adventure your children will never get tired of! This program is designed for beginner skiers and snowboarders. Includes full day of care plus a 1 hr private lesson.

$75 with own equipment
$85 with Silver Mountain Sports rental equipment
Limited availability. Reservations required.

Silver Kids (skiers 5 to 12, boarders 7 to 13) - Weekends and Holidays only
Your kids will beg you to attend this school! Classes are for skiers and snowboarders and are grouped together by age and ability.

Group Rates (minimum of 2 children per group):
$40 for 2 hours starting at 10a
$60 for full day (10a to 3p)
$199 4-pak (four full lessons on weekends or holidays)
Lunch is included in full day program. Full days available weekends and holidays only.

Group Rate Packages (Lift, Lesson & Rental)
$60 for 1/2 day
$75 for full day (10a-3p) includes lunch
$240 4-pak (four full lessons on weekends or holidays)

Silver Sliders (ages 6 to 14)
A weekly snow camp for kids wanting to take their skiing and snowboarding to the next level. Participants must be confident on beginner terrain and able to rides lifts.

Saturdays from 10am to 3pm
