Silver Mountain Alpine Race Team (SMART) is designed for children ages 5 to 17 who enjoy being together, having fun and have a love for skiing and racing on the snow. Our dedicated coaching staff is committed to sharing their love of skiing and racing with the kids. Smart is divided into two distinct but complimentary programs, the Silver Sliders and the SMART race team.
Silver Sliders (ages 4-8) - Want to test the race program waters? Silver Sliders is the place to learn the skills and get an early start on racing fundamentals. Team members work with the same coaches and teammates throughout the season, and practice valuable techniques for on and off the race course. This team is your stepping stone into alpine racing, and is the perfect environment for those aspiring to join the SMART race team. Get the coaching your athlete deserves without the commitment to race.
SMART race team (ages 5-17) – Join the SMART team, and get the coaching, guidance, and support your athlete needs to push their abilities to the next level! Coaches work with each racer to develop their individual skills, confidence, and preparedness. SMART is the perfect environment to help racers reach their goals and be part of a fun family of racers.

Home Race: SMART will be hosting a race here at Silver Mountain this winter, this will not be an EEYSL event. Details coming soon.
Travel Races: The SMART team travels to five Inland Northwest ski areas to participate in the Emerald Empire Youth Ski League (EEYSL) events. These races are optional, but highly encouraged. Each venue presents a different course, with its own unique set of challenges, and helps develop well rounded racers. SMART will have coaches at each of these events to provide support to the team and provide guidance. Participating in these events will require a USSA license. Travel, lift tickets, license, and entry fees are not included as part of the SMART program.
