Welcome to the home of the Silver Mountain Alpine Race Team (SMART) – where young skiers grow into confident racers and lifelong mountain enthusiasts. SMART offers diverse training for skiers ages 4-17 who are looking to elevate their skiing abilities. Whether you’re just starting out in the alpine ski racing community or chasing podiums – SMART has a dedicated and experienced coaching staff to support all levels of athletes.

Programs

Silver Sliders $625

Perfect for beginning athletes seeking structured training and fundamental skill development in a nurturing team environment. This team is your stepping stone into alpine ski racing and to establish strong, all-mountain skiers.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 4YO
• Self-load chair lift
• Ability to ski beginner/intermediate terrain

Program Schedule

• Season: January – March
• Practice: Saturdays 10 am-2 pm (1 hr. lunch break)
  • Meeting area: Race Team Desk (located in the Brownbag room) @ 9:45 am
• Please note that access to the mountain via lift tickets or a season pass is a separate cost.

Race Team $1,100

The SMART Race Team is designed for skiers ages 5-17 who are ready to advance their skills and compete in alpine racing. Athletes train two days a week, focusing on advanced fundamentals, gate technique, speed, and confidence. The program includes race support, travel opportunities, and a close-knit team culture.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 5YO
• Ability to ski difficult terrain

Program Schedule

• Season: December – April
• Practice: Saturdays & Sundays 9 am-3 pm (30 min. lunch break)
  • Meeting area: On-snow, top of bunny hill @ 8:45 am
• Races: Enrollment includes a TeamSnap membership w/season’s race schedule
• Please note that access to the mountain via lift tickets or season passes is a separate cost.

Program Staff

Our coaching staff brings a deep blend of racing experience, instructional expertise, and a shared passion for developing young athletes. Collectively, our coaches have competed in the Evergreen Cup, NW Cup, and Collegiate circuits, with training from esteemed academies, colleges, and programs, giving them firsthand insight into the demands and excitement of alpine competition. All race coaches hold USSA Alpine Level 100 certifications, are First-Aid/CPR certified, and engage in yearly continuing education & training. Together, our coaches create a supportive, skill-focused environment that prepares athletes for success on the mountain and in competition.
